SAFE DIY BLACK SOAP SHAMPOO FOR WASHING NATURAL HAIR

Well formulated Africa black soap will help clarify your hair without making it feel dry or stripped of moisture. I removes build ups that clogs the pores. If well formulated, you will be bathing the best soap ever!

Over time, there has been so many questions on whether to use the popular Dudu osun soap as shampoo or raw black soap.

Personally, I will recommend the local black soap mostly sold in the local market wrapped in brown paper, some call it Ghana soap.

So many have complained having various issues with their hair after using some of these branded soaps.

RECIPE

Raw Black soap - 80g

Honey - 13g

Palm kernel oil - 5g

Bay leaf powder  2g

Clove powder  - 1g

Hibiscus powder -2g

Shea Butter - 2g

I use those particular herbs above because of the following:

- Reduces dandruff

- Reduces itchiness

- It makes hair thick

- It boost hair growth, among many other benefits.

PROCEDURE

Get original black soap

* Melt the soap with different oils of your choice on a very low heat

* Add Honey

* Add Shea Butter

* Bring down from heat, add your herbal or botanical powders and mix with plastic spatula or spoon

* Finaly add your essential oils when it's cool (optional)

Store in a clean container and enjoy.

These powders is optional but I like adding them for extra benefits.

Also, essential oils like peppermint essential oil, rosemary essential oil, etc.

Remember to add the essential oils when the soap is in cool down stage.

As we are avoiding water because of bacteria growth as we are not adding preservative, if the soap is strong add honey or oil to soften not water.

Store in a clean container.

This is because, adding water to it will breed bacterial and won't last, because you are not adding preservative.

On your wash day, dissolve little of the soap in warm water and use.

To get the soap, go to local market and ask about those women that sell black soap or herbs.

It’s mostly wrapped in brown paper.

I prefer this style because I'm not using preservative, and I know what is going into my scalp, and I am sure to add what I want and know what works well for my hair in the mixture.

If you can't afford or find the essential oils- eg lavender, peppermint or any of the oils, simply go ahead and use the ones you have.

If you have them, be sure to use them in drops because they are very potent.

Happy Formulating!
