HOW TO CREATE A NATURAL HAIR REGIMEN/ROUTINE
A regimen is important because it will be easier to see results with your hair, and also know which product is working and which isn't working unlike when you try every thing without any order/system.
Regimen or Routine means a systematic way of doing things.
Natural Hair Regimen means creating a system to care for your hair, a system that you follow on a well thought out schedule (It be a Daily, Weekly or Monthly regime).
A basic Hair regimen should consist of:
1️⃣ Cleansing (with sulphate-free shampoo or milder soap like customized black soap). A deep conditioner is used after you shampoo.

2️⃣ Deep conditioning (protein deep conditioner and moisture based deep conditioner). Protein deep conditioner first and follow up with moisture deep conditioning on the same day.
This is to strengthen your hair strand and keep it healthy.
3️⃣ Moisturizing with a leave in conditioner and sealing the moisture. Leave in conditioner after washing. Then oil and or butter to retain the moisture.
Water, moisturizing deep conditioner, leave in conditioner. These are the three products you need for Moisture.
Le me break it down a little.
Cleansing can be done every week or once in 2 weeks with a shampoo or clay. This will help to remove dirt and product buildup from the scalp and hair
Deep conditioning (hair steaming) is used to infuse moisture into the hair, to make the hair soft and manageable. It should be done after cleansing your hair. The moisture based should be every time you cleanse your hair, while the protein based can be once a month or once in 6 weeks (this depends on your hair porosity).
Note: if you use a protein based deep conditioner, it should be followed with a moisture based deep conditioner
Moisturizing is done after you've rinsed out your deep conditioner, you need to do this with a water based product (leave in conditioner, water, aloe juice) then seal that moisture with a hair butter and/or oil.
Note: you do this every wash day and also in between wash days (every 2 days or 3 days or everyday) depending on how your hair feels and also you oil your scalp
Note: This is just a template to create your own hair regimen
You need to listen to your hair, create your own regimen and be CONSISTENT with it
Also your hair porosity will help determine which products to use in building up your regimen
If you made your hair, that is, single plaits (Calabar) spritz hair lightly with water.
Apply leave in conditioner and a little butter on your ends.
If it's cornrows, spritz lightly, and apply oil on the braids. Just very little.
Thick oil between.
I personally do mine once, but, you could do it twice a week.
I hope you find this educative and helpful, if yes, do let me know in the comment section.
